Peppermint Oreo Cookies have all the things you love: oreos, m&ms, chocolate chips, and Andes mints! These peppermint cookies are so festive and fun and are perfect for a Christmas party. They’re also pretty simple to make, so you can have your kids help you~

Peppermint Oreo Cookies Ingredients

  • box white cake mix (this is an amazing shortcut for yummy cookies– you don’t even need to add flour, sugar, or a rising agent because it’s all in the cake mix!)
  • egg
  • cream cheese, softened
  • butter, softened (not melted)
  • vanilla extract
  • peppermint extract (if you don’t love peppermint you could leave this out, but I highly suggest that you add it!)
  • Oreo cookie chunks
  • Andes chocolate mints (the kind that come in the little green wrappers that you ate growing up!)
  • chocolate chips
  • M&Ms (use red and green ones to make these festive)

How to Make Peppermint Oreo Cookies

These peppermint Oreo cookies are very simple to make and are so delicious. They will become your new favorite Christmas cookie.

To make these cookies, add the cake mix, egg, cream, cheese, butter, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract to a bowl and mix until well combined. I love to use my Kitchenaid and this perfect cookie paddle attachment to make all of my cookies!

Stir in the chopped Oreo chunks, chopped Andes mints, chocolate chips, and M&Ms, and stir until they are distributed throughout the dough.

Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes, but preferably for about two hours. Just for as long as you can. Refrigerating the dough controls how much the cookie will spread on the baking sheet while in the oven, and keeps them soft, fluffy, and thick.

After the dough has chilled for as long as possible, scoop the dough out onto the baking sheet, leaving 2 to 3 inches of room between each cookie so they don’t run into each other.

Bake the cookies for about 11 minutes. After they’re done baking, let them sit on the cookie sheet for about two minutes before placing them on a cooling rack.

I like these cookies best once they’re completely cooled, so let them cool before serving. Enjoy!

  • 8 tbsp cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened (not melted)

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract

  • 1 cup Oreo cookie chunks

  • 1 cup Andes chocolate mints, chopped

  • ½ cup chocolate chips

  • 1/3 cup M&Ms

Directions

  • To a large bowl, add the cake mix, egg, cream cheese, butter, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract. Mix together until ingredients are well combined.
  • Stir in the Oreo chunks, chopped Andes mints, chocolate chips, and M&Ms. Refrigerate for 30 minutes-2 hours (depending on how much time you have) Refrigerating the dough controls the spread of the cookie on the baking sheet and keeps them soft, fluffy, and thick.

The recipe for the Oreo peppermint chocolate chip cookies says the yield is 4 servings. Is this a misprint?
